water Fresh water Loch

A grassy-banked entry point on the B829, just past Aberfoyle at the eastern end of Loch Ard. The road-side layby gives quick and easy shore access with a short walk to the waters edge. Good for a fast dip, though it can be busy on warm weekends.

Kinlochard Jetty

water Fresh water Loch

The most popular wild swimming access point on Loch Ard, located at the western village of Kinlochard. An old boat dock provides a defined entry into shallow, calm water that stays gentle for about 50 metres before the depth increases. A grassy bank gives room to dry off and relax. The Sweat and Soak Sauna is a 2-minute walk. Expect crowds on sunny weekends.
